My job has gone to full time as Technology Integration Specialist for
the La Crescent-Hokah School District. It has been a big change moving
out of the classroom. So far I am enjoying most of it. What does an
Integration Specialist do you ask? My job is to work with teachers,
helping them integrate technology into their classrooms. We have a program
wherein teachers apply to get hardware in their rooms such as an
interactive white board, a document camera, or a web cam for example.
I work with these teachers for a two-year period to train them, help them
with whatever they need, team teach with them if there is technology
they need taught, and just bring new technology to the classroom. I also
teach classes to the teachers before and after school for a variety of new
software packages. It is a very demanding job but I am enjoying it.
When am I going to retire you ask? My 62nd birthday is coming up in
January. This fall I started a second masters degree in educational
technology so guess my plans are to stick around awhile longer.

We have our annual visit from the kids in July. Wow, did we
have fun. Here we are in grandma's secret garden having a
morning devotional.

We have gotten into kayaking this year as well. Even though
Jerry and I haven't had the time to go much, we sure did go when
Alex and Cassidy were here. |

The year held some sadness for my family. My stepmother, Louise,
passed away in February 7 after a short battle with brain cancer.
She and my dad enjoyed 22 years of marriage. Dad is still doing
well at 95 years old. He still goes in to work about 3 to 4 days
a week for about 4 hours. His health is good--probably because
he stays active. The picture on the right was taken this year at
Thanksgiving. We flew down to spend it with Dad. My brother,
Craig is seated--he cooked the marvelous dinner. Behind him are
Leslie his wife and then Lindsay his daughter. |

"Hey, mom! Dad is taking up all room in my tent!" We gave
David a tent in Dallas. They met us on their way over to Ft.
Worth to spend Thanksgiving with Chris' brother who lives there.
It was a nice visit as short as it was. |
