For our 40th wedding anniversary, we decided to see more of our own
area. We drove around the North Shore--the north shore of Lake Superior.
We went from here up to Duluth and then proceeded through Canada. The
picture above was taken in Soux Saint Marie, Michigan--the end of the
loop. We are on a boat going through the locks there. It was a very nice
way to have dinner. This trip completed our loop around as we had done the south shore about 10 years ago.

We saw many beautiful waterfalls. The water level in Lake Superior is
down 26 inches from normal so we understand the waterfalls are more
magnificent usually. We really enjoyed the scenery, however. Much of being on Lake Superior is like being on the ocean, it is so large.
